take place
Happen in reality
To take place is to happen or occur, typically of scheduled or significant events: The ceremony will take place at noon, The meeting took place yesterday.
Unlike simply "happen," take place often implies something planned or noteworthy rather than random occurrence.
It's slightly more formal than "happen" in most contexts.
