synthetic element
Manmade atomic species
A synthetic element is a chemical element not found naturally on Earth, created artificially through nuclear reactions in laboratories or reactors.
These elements are typically unstable, with short half-lives that prevent them from accumulating in nature.
All elements with atomic numbers above 94 are synthetic: Plutonium can be synthesized but also occurs in trace amounts naturally.
