swimming beach
Coastal bathing area
A swimming beach is a stretch of shoreline designated or suitable for recreational swimming, typically featuring gradual entry into the water, sandy or pebbly shores, and relatively calm conditions.
Unlike beaches used primarily for sunbathing or surfing, swimming beaches emphasize safe water access and may have lifeguards, roped-off swimming areas, or posted water quality ratings.
The lake has several swimming beaches open to the public.
