survey crew
Land measurement group
A survey crew is a team of workers who measure and map land, typically for construction, engineering, or property boundary purposes.
The crew usually includes a party chief who directs operations, an instrument operator handling the theodolite or total station, and rod holders who position measuring equipment at target points.
The survey crew was out marking the lot lines before construction began.
