superpose
Place one above
To superpose is to place or lay something on top of something else, so that they occupy the same position or overlap.
The term appears most often in technical contexts: in physics, waves superpose when they combine; in geometry, figures are superposed to test congruence.
The two images were superposed to reveal differences.
