sulfurization
Treating with brimstone
Sulfurization is the process of treating or combining something with sulfur.
In chemistry and industry, materials undergo sulfurization to change their properties—rubber is sulfurized to make it more durable and elastic (also called vulcanization).
The process appears in petroleum refining, metal treatment, and manufacturing.
Also spelled sulphurization in British English.
