wine preservation
Keeping bottles fresh
Wine preservation refers to methods and devices that prevent opened wine from spoiling through oxidation.
Once a bottle is uncorked, exposure to air begins degrading the wine within hours or days.
Preservation systems work by displacing oxygen with inert gas, vacuum-sealing the bottle, or using special stoppers: The restaurant uses an argon wine preservation system to serve premium wines by the glass.
