subsections

Parts within parts

Subsections are the smaller divisions within a section of a document, law, or organizational structure.

When a text or code is too complex to treat as a single unit, it gets broken into sections, and those sections may be further divided into subsections for easier navigation and reference.

Subsection 3(b) of the statute addresses penalties for repeat offenders.

Legal and academic writing relies heavily on subsections to organize detailed material into digestible, citable chunks.
