subarray
Contiguous array portion
A subarray is a contiguous portion of an array—a sequence of elements that appear consecutively in the original, preserving their order.
If an array contains [1, 2, 3, 4], then [2, 3] is a subarray, but [1, 3] is not (that would be a subsequence).
The term appears constantly in programming and algorithm problems: Find the subarray with the maximum sum.
