stork bite
Pink nape patch
A stork bite is a flat, pinkish-red birthmark commonly found on newborns, typically on the back of the neck, eyelids, or forehead.
The name comes from the fanciful notion that a stork carried the baby by the neck.
Most fade within the first year or two, though neck marks may persist into adulthood.
Also called a salmon patch.
