stereoviews

Dual-image depth cards

Stereoviews are paired photographs taken from slightly different angles that create an illusion of three-dimensional depth when viewed through a stereoscope.

Popular from the mid-19th century through the early 20th, they depicted landscapes, monuments, and world events: Victorian parlors often had a stereoscope and a box of stereoviews.

Also called stereographs or stereoscopic cards.
