stem-and-leaf
Data display method
A stem-and-leaf plot is a way of displaying numerical data that preserves the original values while showing their distribution.
Each number is split into a "stem" (typically the leading digits) and a "leaf" (typically the final digit), with stems listed vertically and leaves grouped horizontally beside them.
The result resembles a histogram but allows you to read back the actual data points: The stem-and-leaf showed most test scores clustered in the 70s and 80s.
