steampipe
Boiler's metal tube
A steampipe is a pipe that carries steam, typically as part of a heating system or industrial process.
In older buildings, steampipes run from boilers to radiators, often clanking and hissing as they expand and contract: The steampipe banged all night.
Also spelled as two words: steam pipe.
