spree killer
Mass shooting perpetrator
A spree killer is someone who murders multiple people in a short period across multiple locations, with little or no cooling-off period between killings.
The term distinguishes this pattern from serial killers, who kill over longer time spans with gaps between victims, and mass murderers, who kill many people in a single location.
The spree killer struck three gas stations in two days before police caught him.
