speedlights
Camera flash units
Speedlights are portable flash units that attach to a camera's hot shoe or work wirelessly.
Smaller and more versatile than studio strobes, they're favored by wedding photographers and photojournalists who need powerful lighting on the move: She bounced the speedlight off the ceiling for softer shadows.
Also called speedlites, particularly by Canon.
