solar mass

Sun's weight unit

Solar mass is a unit of mass used in astronomy, equal to the mass of the Sun—roughly 2 × 10³⁰ kilograms.

It provides a convenient scale for describing stars, galaxies, and other massive celestial objects: a star of about three solar masses, a black hole with a mass of four million solar masses.
