socialisation
Learning social norms
Socialisation is the British spelling of socialization—the process by which individuals learn the norms, values, and behaviors of their society.
Children undergo socialisation through family, school, and peers: Early socialisation shapes how we relate to others.
The term also applies to acclimating animals to human contact or other animals.
In economics, socialisation means bringing industries under public ownership.
