snowgroomers
Piste preparation vehicles
Snowgroomers are machines that prepare ski slopes and trails by compacting and smoothing snow.
They resemble small tanks or tractors with wide treads, dragging attachments that flatten moguls and distribute snow evenly.
Also called snow cats or piste bashers.
The term can also refer to the operators who drive these machines: The snowgroomers work through the night to prepare the runs.
