snarer
One who catches
A snarer is someone who catches animals using snares—looped traps that tighten around prey.
The term applies to trappers working for pest control or fur, and extends figuratively to anyone who entraps others: a snarer of unsuspecting investors.
Less common than "trapper" in everyday speech.
