slipmats
DJ spinning aids
Slipmats are circular mats placed on turntable platters, allowing vinyl records to spin freely against the platter beneath.
DJs use them to cue, scratch, and backspin records without the platter's rotation interfering.
Made of felt or similar low-friction material, they replaced rubber mats designed to grip records firmly.
He swapped out the stock mat for custom slipmats.
