slash fiction
Amateur romantic fanfiction
Slash fiction is fan-written stories depicting romantic or sexual relationships between characters from existing media—typically characters not paired in the original work.
The term originated from the slash mark in "Kirk/Spock," early examples featuring the Star Trek characters.
Most slash fiction pairs male characters and is written by and for women: She writes Harry/Draco slash.
The genre has expanded beyond its origins to encompass diverse pairings across all fandoms.
