skull fracture
Broken head bone
A skull fracture is a break in one or more of the bones forming the skull.
Skull fractures range from hairline cracks to severe breaks with bone displacement, and may or may not involve brain injury: The CT scan revealed a skull fracture at the base of the cranium.
Linear fractures are simple cracks; depressed fractures push bone inward toward the brain.
