skin-pop
Inject under skin
Skin-pop is drug slang for injecting a substance subcutaneously—under the skin rather than directly into a vein.
Users may skin-pop when they can't find a vein or to avoid track marks: She started skin-popping heroin before moving to mainlining.
The technique produces a slower, less intense effect than intravenous injection.
