sissies

Easily frightened people

Sissies is the plural of sissy, a disparaging term for a boy or man considered weak, timid, or effeminate: The other kids called him a sissy because he wouldn't fight back.

The word implies failure to meet masculine expectations.

It's also used among gay men, sometimes reclaimed as playful self-description, sometimes still stinging.
