sign-language

Gestural linguistic system

Sign language is any system of communication using hand gestures, facial expressions, and body movements rather than spoken words.

Deaf communities worldwide have developed distinct sign languages—American Sign Language, British Sign Language—that are complete languages with their own grammar, not translations of spoken language.

To sign is to communicate this way: She signed the question to her interpreter.
