shoulder rub
Upper back massage
A shoulder rub is a brief massage of the shoulders and upper back, typically given while the recipient remains seated.
It's a common gesture of comfort or affection between friends, partners, or colleagues, though workplace shoulder rubs can be unwelcome: He offered her a shoulder rub after the long meeting.
Unlike a full massage, a shoulder rub is casual and spontaneous.
