shadowcast
Light-blocked shape thrown
Shadowcast has two distinct uses.
In theater, a shadowcast is a live performance alongside a film screening, with actors mimicking the on-screen action—most famously at midnight showings of *The Rocky Horror Picture Show*: The local shadowcast performs every Saturday night.
In weather forecasting, shadowcast refers to short-term precipitation predictions based on radar imagery, tracking where existing storms will move in the next few hours.
