sexualisation
Adding erotic charge
Sexualisation is the process of making something sexual or viewing it through a sexual lens.
The term often carries negative connotations, particularly regarding the sexualisation of children or young people in media: Critics condemned the sexualisation of teenage pop stars.
It can also describe how objects, behaviors, or body parts become imbued with sexual meaning in a culture.
Also spelled sexualization.
