sewing machine oil
Needle mechanism lubricant
Sewing machine oil is a lightweight, clear lubricant designed to reduce friction in the moving parts of sewing machines.
It's typically a refined mineral oil or synthetic equivalent, thin enough to penetrate small mechanisms without leaving residue that attracts lint or gums up delicate parts: The machine was running rough until I applied a few drops of sewing machine oil.
