senior schools

Secondary educational institutions

Senior schools are secondary educational institutions for older students, typically ages 11-18 in the UK.

The term distinguishes these from junior or primary schools serving younger children.

In British private education especially, senior school marks the transition from preparatory school: He'll move to senior school next September.
