send away

Order to leave

Send away means to dispatch someone or something to a distant place, or to dismiss someone from your presence.

You might send away for a catalog by requesting it through the mail, or send the children away to camp for the summer.

To send someone away can also mean to turn them away or refuse them entry: The bouncer sent us away at the door.
