seeing double

Two of everything

Seeing double is perceiving two images of a single object, a symptom of intoxication, fatigue, or vision problems.

The phrase most often describes the blurred, duplicated vision of someone who has drunk too much: After six beers, I was seeing double.

It can extend to any disorienting confusion: The twins had everyone seeing double.
