Sealant tape is a flexible strip of material used to create watertight or airtight seals around pipes, fittings, and joints.
The most common variety is PTFE tape (often called Teflon tape or plumber's tape), wrapped around threaded connections to prevent leaks.
Other types include silicone tape, which fuses to itself when stretched and wrapped, and foam tape for weatherproofing doors and windows.
I wrapped sealant tape around the showerhead threads before screwing it back on.
