seabags

Cylindrical naval luggage

Seabags are large cylindrical duffel bags traditionally used by sailors to store clothing and personal belongings.

The design—a simple canvas tube that cinches at the top—fits easily in the cramped quarters of a ship: He threw his seabag over his shoulder and headed for the gangway.

The term remains common in naval and maritime contexts.
