sea mammals
Whales and dolphins
Sea mammals are warm-blooded animals that live primarily in ocean environments—whales, dolphins, seals, sea lions, walruses, manatees, and sea otters.
Unlike fish, they breathe air, nurse their young, and maintain constant body temperature.
The term appears in wildlife conservation, marine biology, and environmental policy: Sea mammals are protected under federal law.
