scala tympani
Inner ear channel
The scala tympani is one of three fluid-filled channels in the cochlea of the inner ear.
It runs from the round window at the base of the cochlea to its apex, where it connects with the scala vestibuli.
Sound vibrations traveling through cochlear fluid reach the scala tympani before dissipating at the round window membrane.
