Corroded old clunker
A rustbucket is a vehicle—usually a car, truck, or ship—so old and corroded that rust defines its condition.
The term is affectionately derisive, acknowledging that the thing still runs despite looking ready for the scrapyard: My first car was a rustbucket, but it got me through college.
Sometimes applied to aging machinery generally.
