The deliberately excluded
Pariahs are people rejected by society or excluded from a group.
The word comes from a caste in southern India considered untouchable by higher castes, but now refers to any outcast: The scandal made him a pariah in his own industry.
Nations can also become pariahs: a pariah state isolated by sanctions.
