run-flat tires
Drive while deflated
Run-flat tires are designed to keep functioning after a puncture, allowing a driver to continue for a limited distance without stopping to change the tire.
They use reinforced sidewalls or internal support rings that bear the vehicle's weight even when air pressure is lost.
Most allow travel of 50 miles or more at reduced speed: With run-flats, she made it to the shop without calling a tow truck.
