round-trip time
Signal travel measurement
Round-trip time is the duration for a signal to travel from one point to another and back again.
In computing and networking, it measures how long a data packet takes to reach a server and return: The round-trip time to that server is about 50 milliseconds.
Often abbreviated RTT.
Lower round-trip times mean faster, more responsive connections.
