right tackle
Quarterback's blind protector
Right tackle is a position in American football on the offensive line, stationed to the right of the right guard.
The right tackle's primary job is blocking defenders to protect the quarterback and create running lanes.
Because most quarterbacks are right-handed, the left tackle typically faces the defense's best pass rusher, making right tackle slightly less prestigious but still essential: He started at right tackle for three seasons.
