kick returner
Catches punts, sprints
A kick returner is the player on an American football team designated to catch and advance kickoffs or punts.
The position requires speed and elusiveness to navigate through coverage and gain yardage—or ideally, score a touchdown.
Teams sometimes use the same player for both punt and kickoff returns, or designate specialists for each: He was one of the league's most dangerous kick returners.
