resodding

New grass installation

Resodding is the process of replacing existing grass or turf with new sod—strips of pre-grown grass with their root systems intact.

Lawns are resodded when the original grass has died, become patchy, or been damaged beyond recovery: After the drought, we had to resod the entire backyard.

The work involves removing old turf, preparing the soil, and laying fresh sod.
