reidentify
Confirm who's who
To reidentify is to identify again—either to recognize something previously identified or to establish a new identity for it.
In data privacy, reidentification refers to linking anonymized records back to specific individuals: Researchers were able to reidentify patients from supposedly anonymous medical data.
The term appears in philosophy when discussing how we track objects or persons across time.
