regripped

Clutched once more

Regripped is the past tense of regrip, meaning to grip again or replace a grip.

Most commonly used in golf, where clubs periodically need new grips: I regripped my irons last week.

Also applies to any situation where someone takes hold of something a second time: She regripped the steering wheel and accelerated.
