reflecting telescopes
Curved-mirror astronomical instruments
Reflecting telescopes use mirrors rather than lenses to gather and focus light.
A curved primary mirror collects incoming light and reflects it to a focal point, where a secondary mirror or eyepiece captures the image.
Most large astronomical telescopes are reflectors because mirrors can be made larger than lenses and don't suffer from chromatic aberration: The Hubble is a reflecting telescope.
