reading texts
Literature for class
Reading texts refers to the act of looking at and interpreting written messages on a phone or device, or to the messages themselves when considered as material to be read.
The phrase often implies a passive or receptive posture—scrolling through what others have sent rather than composing replies: She spent the whole meeting reading texts under the table.
It can also refer to assigned written material in educational contexts: The reading texts for this course include primary sources from the period.
