radiology report

Scan interpretation document

A radiology report is a written document summarizing a radiologist's interpretation of medical imaging—X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, ultrasounds.

It typically describes what was seen, notes any abnormalities, and offers a diagnostic impression.

The report becomes part of the patient's medical record and guides the treating physician's decisions: The radiology report showed no evidence of fracture.
