radiator cap
Engine pressure lid
A radiator cap is the removable seal on top of a vehicle's radiator or coolant reservoir.
It maintains pressure in the cooling system, which raises the boiling point of the coolant and improves engine efficiency.
The cap releases excess pressure through a built-in valve to prevent damage: Don't remove the radiator cap when the engine is hot.
