fuel cap
Gas tank cover
A fuel cap is the removable cover that seals a vehicle's fuel tank opening.
It prevents fuel from spilling or evaporating and keeps contaminants out.
Most modern fuel caps click when properly tightened; a loose or missing cap can trigger a check engine light.
Also called a gas cap.
